So the challenge is this: I have a list of about 800 addresses from our club and we want to know where all our members are coming from so that we can target our marketing to areas in our georgraphic region that are under represented.

There are a lot of mapping extensions for Joomla.

It handles multiple locations through the UI so I'm assuming I could do a direct SQL insert to put in my 800 addresses.
GoogleMaps PLugin
is a hugely popular mapping plug-in. I don't think it will give a good ability to have multiple locations.
GeoCommunity
GeoCommunity is an extension that works with Community builder and maps people's locations based on the information they enter in their profiles. I wasn't really planning to use CB for this project, it is an obvious solution and I'm familiar with it's database structures.
CB Juice can be used to import a large list of users into CB.
